Microsoft Developer Center
Analytics // Data visualizations
I spent a little four-ish years on this team designing, building, and redesigning data vizualizations for the Developer Center, which eventually merged with Partner Center. Over those years the process changed some, new code capabilities became available, and Microsoft's design language adjusted and updated. Going with the flow and trying to align as best we could to the changes proved difficult at times, but there were some awesome explorations regardless.
Data viz evolution from 2014-2018

Skills gained
Color accessibility
I quickly learned about color blindness and the ratios that needed to be met for individual colors vs the background, but ALSO how the colors looked next to each other.
Designing for data
Learning to choose the right data visualization for the type of data being displayed was trial and error at first, but by the end of my tenure on this work, I could easily choose the right data visualization for the data that was provided.
Prioritization
As design styles progressed over the years, there were plenty of visual updates I would have loved to make to modernize the data viz. With functionality and loading times as a priority, we made choice improvements where impact was the highest.
