I tackled this project with a UX engineer when the foundational design system our work was built off of was getting an upgrade that our partners wouldn't be able to consume for years. We designed and built a theme that could be consumed to make their code visually align to the Fluent 2 updates. Here are a few examples of what that work looked like in our UI toolkit.
